Jerry Lee Lewis Club to Open on Beale Street

This May, the infamous Beale Street in Memphis, TN will get a new Rock & Roll club. The Jerry Lee Lewis Cafe & Honky Tonk is slated to open May 1, 2013 at 310 Beale Street. Details of Jerry Lee’s appearance for the opening are still being worked out.

More info on the opening provided by The Commercial Appeal:

The restaurant will offer live Rock & Roll music and will feature memorabilia of Lewis including his motorcycle, piano, posters and clothes he wore on stage.

The food will be “all southern, from Louisiana to low country to Mississippi to Memphis.” The decor will not be set in the ’50s, the era Lewis rose to fame, general manager Bud Chittom said. “It will not be a sock hop or malt shop. It’s a honky-tonk and cafe. Those haven’t changed in 60 years.”
